This article summarizes the way a web user can update the status of a load or trip manually
The preferred method of updating the status of a load is to have the driver update the progress of a load in the Driver Mobile App as they are executing the load in real time. If it is necessary to update the status manually in the mobile app, there are a few items you should be aware of before progressing:
1. You can find the options to manually update the status of a Load/Trip in the 3-Dot Menu in the upper right corner of any Detail Panel.
2. The most important thing when manually updating loads is to make sure you are updating and completing them in the proper sequence. For example, completing a load out of sequence may result in an incorrect calculation of deadhead due to the assumed location of the previous trip.
2. The options to Duplicate, Mark as Hold, Mark as Complete, Mark as Cancelled, or Delete Load are always available if your user permissions allow it.
3. The options for updating the status will be conditional based on the current status of the Load/Trip:
a. If a Load is Available, you will only be able to Complete or Cancel the load.
b. If a Load Is Assigned and the Driver is currently dispatched on a trip, you will be able to revert the status to Planned or Available, or progress to Completed or Cancelled.
c. If a Load is Assigned and the driver is currently available to be dispatched, in addition to the previous options you will also be able to Dispatch the load/trip. Logic has been updated to allow users to dispatch loads out of sequence which will automatically re-order the drivers timeline to properly sequence the trips.
4. Once you or a driver has dispatched a load or trip, you can update progress manually for each stop activity with the update progress icon on the Trip Panel.
Please Note: These updates are timestamped so if you manually complete a load, all times will be completed either at the current time or the appointment time based on your company preferences.
Updated the Progress may include Arrival and Departure as well as Loading and Unloading start and stop times depending on your preferences. The Status of the load will dynamically updated based on the activities completed in this section. If all stops are completed, the load will be marked as Completed.
